The BIG WIPES™ brand is firmly established and out-performs other products in cleaning power, convenience and most importantly, health & safety. Sadly there are wet wipes on the market that describe themselves as hand wipes, yet do not comply with the latest amendments of the relevant standards, putting you and your staff at potential risk. The Sycamore Group invests in continual advice, review and verification from professional bodies to ensure our Big Wipes products remain both legal and safe as the regulations evolve. We insist on the following tests to be undergone on all our wipes:
Safety Assessment - Compliance to the ALL NEW EU REGULATION (EC) No 1223/2009 - Cosmetic Products
Replacing the 1976 EU Cosmetics Directive (76/768/EEC) in July 2013, this protects consumers and makes sure that all cosmetic products on the European market are safe. It requires cosmetics to cause no damage to human health when applied under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.
A Safety Assessment for a Cosmetic Product was carried out on 16 February 2014 by Alex Westerberg, Safety Assessor of Cosmarts Ltd, duly authorised according to the Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on Cosmetic Products, to conduct and take responsibility for the safety assessment of cosmetic products. ‘Can be reasonably considered NOT TO REPRESENT ANY UNDUE RISK TO THE HUMAN HEALTH in accordance to the Regulation 1223/2009 if used under normal and foreseeable conditions.’ Safety Assessment Statement SA14099A by Cosmarts Ltd.
We regularly and rigorously have our products tested on volunteers by The Institute of Skin Research. After 48 hours of a single exposure, zero levels of reaction or irritation were recorded on all subjects.
Where stated, Big Wipes products also carry the additional benefit of an effective antibacterial accreditation. This provides added protection to users working in potentially hazardous environments, external or internal. Our Big Wipes Industrial wipes have been tested by the Institute of Food Microbiology and Consumer Goods Ltd and were found to have excellent antimicrobial activity and completely eliminated the tested strains:
Big Wipes were tested as effectively preventing the incubation of Leptospira (Weils) interrogans strain RGA.
